About Close Knit

Ani Lee started Close Knit in 2015 as a vessel for connection. That year, she gathered stories and learned to edit the audio to release the Close Knit Podcast in 2016 (which is nowadays, thankfully, professionally edited).

The podcast is home to over 60 guests’ stories, conversations on their lived realities through the context of fiber. Ani’s goal is to create a space for podcast guests to feel held in speaking to their experiences, in all their fullness.

Ani’s practice is a hopeful gesture towards connection and friendship. She knits for love and for trade, and shares her learnings, mistakes, and progress along the way. She’s curious about fiber production & she explores this curiosity through knitting, spinning, natural dyeing, patchworking, and garment-sewing. She is particularly fond of knitting (and mending) socks.
